Public service personnel (First Responders) touch lives every day. The Ride! is simply a link to ensure there are opportunities for those needing assistance to continue their education as a First Response Team member that will carry the "lives touched" indefinitely throughout their careers. When these individuals walk out the door to work each day, there is no agenda, schedule, appointments for the day where they are headed. They stand ready to assist at any moment with the resources they have including their own life.
Directly or indirectly a life is changed daily by assistance of a First Response Team somewhere in the world. In 2011 a portion of The Ride! proceeds were donated to the fastest growing community in Butler County (Andover) through the newly formed Andover Police & Fire Foundation High School scholarship awards; the fastest growing county in Kansas (Butler) through the newly established Fire & Iron Motorcycle Club Fire Science Scholarship Endowment at Butler Community College; and various communities in the U.S. through America's 911 Foundation 12 scholarship awardees. Together, a minimum of 15 scholarships to further education in the field of a First Response student (Fire, Police, EMS) will be made possible. To this end, everyday a life is or will be changed “touched”. There is no measurement for life. The Ride! stands ready to assist in the success of education for First Response Teams locally, and to immediately assist families in the event an Andover First Responders life is taken in the line of duty.
The question is still “How many lives will be touched?”Remember, with every siren someone’s life changes.
